She Decides

Imagine living in a society where women do not have the right to choose what they do with their bodies? Well, if forty-eight states follow Alabama and Georgia's blueprint on abortion bans, your imagination will have prophesied that reality.

News about heartbeat laws that ban abortions, even in the case of rape and incest, are sadistic policies that tread on the health and human rights of girls and women.

Rape and incest by definition...

RAPE: “The penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”

US Department of Justice - https://bit.ly/2sWO7Bu

INCEST: “The crime of having sexual intercourse with a parent, child, sibling, or grandchild..” -

An attempt to normalize rape and incest as an exemption for abortions, and conversely criminalize women for choosing not to birth a baby conceived out of the SIN of rape and incest is pro-life hypocrisy.

A woman’s right to choose what’s in her best interest should not be policed and prosecuted as a pro-life crime, while perpetrators of those crimes are free from accountability.

Forcing a mother to birth a child conceived from incest or rape predisposes the child to a lifetime of mental instability and social stigma. Denying a mother’s right to choose inadvertently sets the child up for failure at birth.

In spite of sweeping legislature impacting a woman's right to choose, it is important to educate ourselves about historical laws that have impacted women's rights (Roe v. Wade-410 U.S. 113 (1973), Women's Suffrage Movement/Right to Vote (1848, 1919), Brown v. Board of Education 347 U.S. 483: 1954,1955, Women's March 2016, Me Too 2006, Cultural (hair and garb choices) and how such laws are becoming at-risk of overturning, criminalizing women, and posing a threat to the health and human rights of girls watching and walking in their mother's footsteps.

Finally, if "he" decides to violate her, then "he" should be arrested and prosecuted for sexual violence.
